UBS Analyst Warns Adobe Faces 'fiercely competitive’ AI market, Lowers Price Target

Adobe faced scrutiny after UBS analyst Karl Keirstead highlighted the "fiercely competitive" nature of the creative artificial intelligence market, citing recent commercials from Coca-Cola and Toys “R” Us.
These ads, which were produced using AI tools from OpenAI, Runway, and Leonardo (owned by Canva), did not involve Adobe’s AI tools.
In his note, Keirstead wrote that Adobe is not yet at 'feature parity' with the aforementioned competitors and lowered his price target for Adobe to $475 from $525, maintaining a Neutral rating.
He also pointed out that while Coca-Cola and Toys “R” Us used Adobe's tools for final editing and post-production, "there was no incremental spend."
Keirstead further mentioned that the Coca-Cola ad could mark a turning point for AI-generated content, as it cost only one-tenth of a traditional production and took just four weeks to create with only six people involved.
