Rundagor - Stronghold of Ruin (Full Demo) [1995]

Описание: RUNDAGOR was a Russian Black Metal project from Novomoskovsk, Tula Oblast, formed in 1994 by Dagorath. It was one of the first BlazeBirth Hall (BBH) bands, alongside Forest, Branikald, and later Raven Dark — a circle created by Dagorath and Kaldrad in 1994 that would later give rise to the legendary Forest, which recorded four albums under that banner. Rundagor remained Dagorath’s solo project, with session drums handled by Wizard from the circle, before his departure in late 1998.

Stronghold of Ruin is historically significant as the very first release from the BlazeBirth Hall circle. The only official BBH albums of the 1990s were Rundagor’s debut Stronghold of Ruin (titled Stronghold of Ruins on the Hungry AK-47 release in 1996) and Branikald’s debut Stormheit, also issued by Hungry AK-47 in 1996. Everything else from the circle would remain unreleased until the 2000s.

Other so-called “self-released” BBH cassettes floating around online (on Discogs, Metal Archives, etc.) are just dubs, copied at different times from the masters, usually with handwritten inserts, sometimes tracklists, sometimes not. Most were signed by Sigrun, or by Gegner in the case of Raven Dark. Occasionally, printed inserts appeared with different layouts, such as Kveldulv. Many of these tapes were personal copies, sometimes existing as a single dub. In truth, only the first Rundagor and Branikald albums distributed by Hungry AK-47 can be considered real releases from the 90s.

Dagorath had been working on two full-lengths to follow his demo tapes — The Beastrealm and Стальным Шипом (By the Steel Spike), with Стальным Шипом still unreleased to this day. But shortly after Forest’s Обрекая надежду на вечность (1998), he was excommunicated from BlazeBirth Hall by Kaldrad and Gegner in 1999 and kicked out of the circle. He left Forest and cut ties with all associated political and ideological beliefs. Rumors spread that he had been killed by members of BBH, but these were disproved in 2018 when he resurfaced and finally released The Beastrealm after two decades of silence.

As Kaldrad stated, “Dagorath” had no right to the BlazeBirth Hall name and had been disassociated from it more than 20 years ago. Once resurfaced, he became further involved with known bootlegger and fraud Chernobor. Nevertheless, Vitaly “Dagorath,” together with the wannabe Moroth (of Sternatis), became involved with Chernobor and his bootleg label Ragnarok Records, in this dirty fraud and is forever dishonored by this conspiracy of lies, impersonation, distortion of facts, forged documents, and deception. After 20 years in hiding, he suddenly reemerged as an accomplice to Chernobor in an attempt to expropriate the BlazeBirth Hall name.

They ran what became known as an “AliExpress BBH” bootlegging operation, reissuing counterfeit versions of Raven Dark’s early works (profiting from Ulv Gegner’s death), the unreleased Wotan Sølv project, and other albums under Ragnarok Records and their German ally Hammerbund, effectively bootlegging everything. By 2019, following Kaldrad’s tragic death, they had gone on to bootleg nearly the entire BBH catalog through ASRAR. Don’t buy other BBH reissues from this label, as these are just bootlegs made by the fraud.

The only legit reissues of BBH are from Der Schwarze Tod label. This is the label to which Kaldrad entrusted all materials when he still was alive.

Do not support the bootleggers: Chernobor (Ragnarok Records), Denis Schoner from Hammerbund, Ewiges Eis Records, ASRAR, and all the other labels distributing ASRAR's shady bootlegs such as DRAKKAR Productions, Signal Rex, and many others.

They're all cashing in on dead men's legacy.
