A 4 row pattern stitch that looks reptillian! Not quite as textured as the crochet version but still quite nice. Here is how you do it...
Cast on an even # of stitches.
Setup row: p1, k1, repeat across row.
Row 1: Sl1 wyib, yf, *sl1, yon, p1, rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 2: Sl1 wyib, yf, *p1, sl2, yon, rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 3: Sl1 wyib, *k3tog, p1, rep from * to last st, k1.
Row 4: Sl1, *K1, p1, rep from * to last st, k1.
Repeat rows 1-4 to create crocodile stitch.
