I got ICL surgery at B&VIIT Eye Center in Seoul, Korea, and I also had my sister doing it 👀

I am finally no longer visually impaired lol.
I’ve been wearing glasses since I was in elementary school (genetics was not on my side for this) and for this reason, my myopia got worse year after year. I had been thinking about getting an eye-surgery to correct my vision for a long time, like years, so I was very familiar with the options available for my case. However, this didn’t make me less anxious. Before choosing B&VIIT clinic, I spent DAYS researching, reading reviews, and watching videos on YouTube hoping that I would find the one video that would help me make the right choice. And to be honest, I couldn’t. I didn’t find a single source that made me think everything was going to be alright. I put all the pieces I found together, took a deep breath, and sent an email to help me clear all my doubts. The email exchange didn’t make my anxiety disappear but it made me book an appointment and be actually positive that I could find a solution to my problem.
When I went to B&VIIT in Seoul I was scared. All my doctors in Italy were always mentioning my high myopia as it was somehow my fault, something that was only going to get worse because if I was not willing to give up on screen time or whatever then there would be no use. Or like something that was there, and I couldn’t really do much about it because well, that’s on me in the first place. I hated going to the ophthalmologist. I have no feeling about going to the dentist, in fact, I love going there because I want nice teeth. But the ophthalmologist, that’s another story. I had no luck and apparently only met doctors incapable to empathise with a patient, maybe they saw me more like a long-term client, and this is where my fear was rooted.
For the first time in my life in Seoul, at B&VIIT I felt like a normal patient with high myopia. I felt like people were not judging me for my condition and FINALLY I felt like I was nothing special!!!
Because that’s what it is at the end of the day.

Rosa, our translator, is also the person in charge of giving you every information possible. You will most likely get a reply from her when you first contact the clinic. She is competent, and professional, she never judges and she really cares about making sure you’re happy with your choice. She will translate everything the doctors tell you during the tests, the day of the surgery, and during the next-day checkup. And she is super sweet.

After my surgery (and before my sister got surgery) I told Rosa about my experience in Italy and she said that actually in Korea A LOT of people are getting ICL because there are more and more cases like mine so it’s pretty common. This was a first.

If you’re coming to Seoul and plan to stay here for more than 2 weeks, I highly recommend you check this clinic out.
You can book your test day just to see which surgery would be optimal for your case and you have absolutely no pressure to proceed with surgery. You will find people that will explain everything to you and that will answer your every question (in fact, they will ask you to ask them questions!) and will make sure you feel 100% sure about your choice. They understand you are a patient and they know that it’s an important decision for your life!
