Small town Canadian blues band, Blindsided, performs a great cover of the JJ Grey & Mofro classic, Mississippi. This is the swan song for the local band at the very popular Annual Spring Revival on the grounds of the Church-Key Brewing Company.
Chad Brookes, a "new Canadian" from South Carolina, introduced this song by JJ Gray and Mofro to these northern blues lovers in a band called Low Down Blues. Mick, Ian and Chad were members of that now defunct band but continued this great tune with their other band, Blindsided.
The Blindsided Blues Band originally formed in 2004 as Bad Poetry Blues Band. They took the name from a similarly named book found in the Stinking Rose Pub in Campbellford, Ontario.
Church-Key Brewing Company has held its Annual Spring Revival on the first Saturday of May since 2001. Blindsided has played this local event on and off since 2005. Mick Manning, Peter Thorn and Ian Davis are the remaining original members from that first performance.
To this day, brewery owner, John Graham, continues being a strong supporter and promoter of local, live music.
