Korean-Australian Minjee Lee has grabbed her maiden LPGA career victory by winning the Kingsmill Championship staged in Williamsburg, Virginia.
In the weather-delayed final round on Monday, the 18-year-old rookie finished the event to card 15-under-par, a score good enough for a two-shot win over South Korean veteran Ryu So-Yeon. The tournament stretched into Monday after being halted by darkness the previous evening.
A former world No.1 amateur golfer who turned professional just eight months ago, Lee now joins Korean rookies Kim Sei-Young and Kim Hyo-Joo, who have also notched their first wins in the ongoing season of the LPGA tour.
