How Much Quieter? RV "Whisper Quiet" Air Conditioner vs Standard/Conventional AC - Real Test Results

Описание: When I was shopping for my current RV (2021 Jayco Pinnacle 37MDQS), I was cross-shopping other brands and models, some of which did NOT have whisper quiet return ducts on the AC. All my previous RV's lacked whisper quiet AC's, so I had gotten used to the extra noise from RV AC's. However, I remember thinking on my wishlist for my next RV, that it'd sure be a nice feature to have the AC quieter so you're not having to talk louder or turn up the TV volume each time the AC kicks on. But, at the same time many of the modern AC's like the Coleman Mach versions are already pretty quiet even when they don't have the "whisper quiet" return ducts.

Well, I could never really find a good comparison between the two (whisper quiet vs standard/conventional AC), but in the end I chose the Jayco Pinnacle for other reasons ultimately. Still though, I've always been curious for a real-world comparison or test between the two, and it just so happens that my Pinnacle has both whisper quiet AC's and a single conventional or standard AC, so I figured why not conduct a real world test and compare them? For those curious, all 3 of the AC's on my Pinnacle are 15K BTU Coleman Mach, two of them are whisper quiet ducted.

So in today's video I'll answer the question, "How much louder is a conventional or standard RV air conditioner compared to a whisper quiet AC?" I'll use a dB meter to read noise levels, and I'll carefully calculate factors and controls throughout the experiment to try and get real world, yet objective results in the end.
