The Nigeria Premier Football League has ruled that the home grounds of Niger Tornadoes FC and Shooting Stars SC no longer meet the required standards for the 2025/26 season. Minna’s Bako Kantagora Stadium and Ibadan’s Lekan Salami Stadium failed compliance checks tied to broadcast quality, pitch condition, and player safety. The league has offered alternatives, including the Rasheed Yekini Main Bowl, the Jos Zaria Road Stadium, the MKO Abiola Stadium in Abeokuta, and the Mobolaji Johnson Arena. Both clubs must confirm their choices by 2 February 2026, or venues will be assigned. The directive signals stricter enforcement of league standards driven by television agreements and safety requirements.
