​‪@melaniemaclaren‬ is a super talented, entertaining singer-songwriter we were lucky enough to see before the New Orleans Jazz Festival. Great voice and melodies in her unplugged acoustic set in the cozy, intimate back room - aka "The Den" - at The Howlin' Wolf Music Club on S. Peter Street in NOLA. Best performance in our first days in the crescent city!!!

As I wrote before, Melanie's songs are great, but the real BONUS is that Melanie is so charming and chatty in her song intros/banter too. Thanks again Melanie for sharing the inspirations for your insightful, beautiful songs ❤️❤️❤️. Some of the best shows are because of the artist banter - Canadian examples include Jann Arden and BNL. Jann is like a comedian between songs.

So what's with the 'comedy show' talk at the beginning of this video? We had a comedy show at this venue booked in February but the trip was cancelled. So I rebooked a show and I THOUGHT I had booked another stand up comedy show at The Howlin' Wolf - Duh Me !!! We shared that with Melanie before the show :)

As Melanie says at the beginning she is pretty funny. She delivered. Now that I've seen and heard her play I'd take a Melanie McLaren concert + banter over a comedy show any day :)
