Observations
Without Filter:
The output waveform will be a pulsating DC, corresponding to the positive half-cycles of the AC input.
You will observe that the waveform has a lot of ripples, meaning it’s not a smooth DC output.
With Filter:
The output waveform will be smoother compared to the unfiltered output.
The capacitor charges during the peak of the input waveform and discharges when the input voltage drops, filling in the gaps and reducing ripples.
The DC output voltage level will be higher and closer to the peak value of the input AC voltage.
Analysis
