Описание: Today Marie will share with you her perfected recipe for delicious, puffy, soft pretzels! This recipe is super easy and produces beautiful pretzels every time!

Here's the recipe:

Soft Pretzel Dough:
3 tablespoons pure maple syrup
2 1/4 teaspoons instant yeast
1 cup warm water
2 1/2 cups flour
1 tablespoon melted butter (optional)

Soda Bath:
4 cups water
1/4 cup baking soda

Mixed together the syrup, yeast, and warm water. Let it sit for 10 minutes until foamy.

Add the flour. Mix well. Kneed the dough on a lightly floured surface for 3 to 5 minutes. Lightly grease a large bowl. Put dough in the bowl and cover with plastic wrap. Let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour.

Once the dough has doubled in size, punch it down and remove it from the bowl. Cut into eight even pieces. Roll them into long ropes and make the pretzel shape with each piece of dough.

Preheat the oven to 400° f and line a sheet pan with parchment paper.

For the soda bath, bring 4 cups of water to a simmer on the stove top in a pan and then add the soda. Place one of the pretzels in the soda water for 15 seconds on each side (30 seconds total for each pretzel). Place the pretzels back onto the baking sheet and sprinkle with kosher salt. Bake for 15 minutes. When the pretzels are done baking brush with butter and top with your topping of choice :-) Enjoy!
