U.S. airstrikes have reportedly struck targets in close proximity to a specialized children’s cancer facility, the Shahid Baghaei Hospital, located in Ahvaz, Iran. While no immediate casualties were directly reported inside the facility from the military strikes, the shockwaves and nearby explosions triggered intense panic among hospitalized pediatric patients. In a rapid emergency response, dedicated medical staff successfully evacuated 211 children undergoing chemotherapy, ensuring all patients were safely transferred to alternative medical centers to continue their critical treatments.

Following the intense distress and nearby damage, the Shahid Baghaei Hospital has been temporarily taken out of service. Iran has strongly condemned the attack as a barbaric war crime, pointing out the severe suffering and anxiety inflicted on vulnerable young patients. As of now, the U.S. military has not commented on the strikes or the proximity of their operations to the healthcare facility.
