Assessing and understanding the factors that affect the movements and habitat use of aquatic animals is necessary for conservation and management. But how can scientists study these aspects under water? We previously covered acoustic telemetry in detail in a previous video, but this new animation provides an overview on all the other types of telemetry in the aquatic tracking toolbox, including PIT, radio, archival and satellite telemetry.
