Where there's a will, there's a way, and Michael proves that this week. Armed with a winch, the strength of an ox, and stubborn determination, he manages to get the ridge beam installed. It's not without its challenges (of course), including extremely hot weather and a sudden summer rain downpour!
But the result is incredible. It's already transforming our rustic outbuilding into the space we have in mind, and it feels like a huge step forward in this renovation project.

We're Michael & Becci (the humans) and Tilly (sassy English tortoiseshell cat), Alfie and Anoushka (Portuguese rescue dogs). After four years in Portugal and numerous dreams about renovating our own property, we've taken the plunge and are renovating a schist stone house and its outbuildings in Figueiró dos Vinhos.
