Continuation of the Rulon application " saga". I thought it could be useful to go over the steps I have learnt when gluing on such "wear material" and do this (quite) in detail. I forgot to show that I measured the height of the blocks when clamping down, but it was within 5/100mm which also the end result came out within. Pleased with that.. it gave me a good start of the scraping process not having to battle (too much) "out of plane" surfaces.
PS! This was my 2nd saddle of 2 I made this time around (not sure how many I have done before, but think I am somewhere between 10 and 20 where I have used Rulon). The 1st was more work to get even and I since I filmed this too I thought it could be worth making another video describing the process.. similar, but still somewhat different. This will be next in line and thereafter the scraping of this. Maybe this can give an idea of why the importance of clamping down as this saddle came out with one pad somewhat lower than the other, thanks mostly to difference in pressure ie. weight of the blocks used when clamping down during the curing process.. I think. On this 1st saddle I also used a different mounting of the saddle while milling, which gave a little bit more "unevenness", but this didn't explain why the saddle with Rulon applied came out.
