We take a look at three preserved Standard Gauge Hunslet Steam Locomotives.
Hunslet Works No.1982 0-6-0ST Ring Haw is captured visiting the Nene Valley Railway, normally based on the North Norfolk Railway and part of the Midland & Great Northern Joint Railway Society's Collection of Locomotives. Its visit to the Nene Valley Railway in Peterborough was quite appropriate as the locomotive was built in 1940 to work at the Nassington Ironstone Quarries near Peterborough
Hunslet Works No.2705 0-6-0ST No.7 Beatrice is based at the Embsay & Bolton Abbey Railway, where we see the locomotive operating. We also see the locomotive on a visit to the East Lancashire Railway.
Hunslet Works No.1873 0-6-0ST Jessie is also seen working at Embsay. Nowadays the locomotive is based at the Pontypool & Blaeavon Railway, although she was initially restored at the Llangollen Railway. During much of this time the locomotives saddle tanks were replaced with a pair of side tanks, with the locomotive playing the role of Thomas the Tank Engine.
A we also take a brief look at Works No. 299 'Hodbarrow' at the Statfold Barn Railway and 'Austerity' 'Whiston' at the Foxfield Railway' pointing you towards the Hunslet Austerities video: • Hunslet Austerity 0-6-0ST
