Gaijin Entertainment, the makers of the popular MMO War Thunder have just released the source code to the underlying game engine 'Dagor Engine' under the BSD-3 open source license. Most confusingly there is absolutely NO announcement from Gaijin as to WHY they did it! War Thunder is still extremely popular, being in the top 10 players on Steam, and the license enables you to actually use the code in your own projects.
