Atulie'er in Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture, Sichuan Province, China, lies on a 1,000-meter-high cliff. For many years, this "cliff village" depended on a rattan ladder as its link with the outside world. Even after a safer steel ladder replaced the rattan one in 2016, exiting and entering the village remained extremely time-consuming and inconvenient.
In 2020, the entire village was relocated to the county seat. Subsequently, the old site of Atulie'er has become a base for growing local specialties. With the steel ladder leading to the cliff village as their backdrop, the villagers are using livestreaming to get rich.
