While active weather is set to wind down Wednesday after turbulent conditions the past two days, the impacts of the storms can still be felt. Storms on Monday and Tuesday have dumped feet of snow, even in lower elevations that don't typically see snow. Soaking rain also persisted in the Valley and lower Foothills. The KCRA 3 weather team issued an Impact Day for Wednesday because of how wet weather could affect travel and outdoor activities. Travel is discouraged in the Sierra as crews work to clear the roads and reopen the freeways.
