Queensland Road Rules – crossing continuous lines

You can't overtake or do a U-turn when there's a continuous centre line.

However you are allowed to cross a single continuous centre line if you are entering or leaving a road. This is ok even if there is a broken line on the other side.

If there's a double continuous centre line, you are not allowed to cross it at all.

Simple misunderstandings of road rules can cause a lot of grief - from near misses and minor crashes to serious injury or worse. Road rules are developed for your safety so make sure you know and follow them at all times.
