In this video, I visit SS-Schießplatz Hebertshausen, a haunting and historically significant location just outside of Dachau, Bavaria. Today, it appears as a quiet field, but during World War II, it was the site of mass executions of over 4,000 Soviet prisoners of war by the SS, carried out between 1941 and 1942.

Located approximately 2 km northwest of the Dachau Concentration Camp, this shooting range was specifically used by the SS for carrying out executions under Hitler’s "Commissar Order", which targeted Soviet officers, political commissars, and Jews taken as POWs.

Though lesser-known than Dachau itself, the Hebertshausen execution site stands as a chilling reminder of the brutality of the Nazi regime. A memorial now exists here to honor the victims, many of whom remain unidentified to this day.
