In this video I'm on a mission to catch a trout while rafting down a fast moving river on my paddle board. I'm trying to catch a trout on soft baits while navigating the rapids. I'm doing this for the first time on such a fast flowing river. This is the Waiau river on the South Island of New Zealand. The section I'm fishing is between Te Anau and Manapouri. This river has one of the highest trout populations in New Zealand. There are trout rising everywhere, but they are hard to catch as the water is crystal clear and there is a lot of food supply. They are usually picky and spooky.
So let's see if it can be done on a paddle board.
