Pakistan PM Shehbaz Sharif ‘likely’ to attend SCO Summit in India: Report

Описание: Indian recently invited Pak's Defence Min Khawaja Asif to attend SCO meet scheduled for April, as per Express Tribune. India has been sending invitations to Pakistani Ministers for key meets as it chairs SCO. Along with Defence Minister, India has also extended invite to FM Bilawal Bhutto for the Foreign Ministers’ meet. However, amid strained relations, uncertainty looms over participation of Pakistani Minister in the meetings. Recently, decision to skip the meeting of Chief Justices of SCO in New Delhi from March 10-12. The decision of Khawaja Asif and Bhutto attending the respective SCO meets has still not been decided by Pakistan. Amid uncertainty, presence of Pak PM Shehbaz Sharif in Summit of SCO Council of Heads of State remains a pertinent question. However, unlike other meets, Summit might turn out different as China and Russia’s leaders’ attendance might be game changer, opined Express Tribune. With chance to meet leading Ministers of both countries on international platform is stake too high that Pak is unlikely to miss. SCO comprises of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
