Nyamata is a town located in Nyamata sector in the Bugesera District. It is situated in the eastern province of Rwanda and Nyamata literally means a place of milk. The distance from Kigali to Nyamata town is 35km which can be done in 30min. it’s a vibrant town where there are economic activities, businesses , schools , churches , a hospital, markets, hotels and restorants. It has also one of the memorial sites of Tutsi genocide.
