"In the past few months, I’ve had the opportunity to experience great conferences and events on the Blue Economy. I’ve discovered that there is very little connection between this knowledge… and real jobs, real careers, and clear pathways for young people in the Blue Economy.

If we want a strong and prosperous blue economy, we must prepare our young people for the blue workforce so that our country will grow and we can realize our dream of being a leader in the Blue Economy. Up until now, we lack a shared, coordinated vision that brings all sectors together to close the gap between our youth and opportunity.

The Blue Economy offers something deeply valuable to our generation: decent jobs, meaningful work, long-term careers, and the possibility to live close to our families and communities, so we can contribute positively to the places we care about. It’s about empowering our generation to protect the ocean through their work. It’s about building skills for a changing world. And it’s about keeping coastal communities alive, resilient, and in charge of their own future.

Now, we ask for something simple, but essential:
Open this blue economy to the youth.
Show us where the opportunities are.
Create clear bridges between education, training, and work.
Let us see what you do -- and be a part of building it.

We are eager to learn.
We want to stay in the country we love.
We want to contribute.

If we work together, we can turn potential into people, and ambition into careers.
The future of the blue economy depends on the youth.
And our youth are ready!
