The Goodness of Now (American Girl Stopmotion)

It’s here! I am over the moon to be celebrating, not only my 16 year Anniversary, but also the release of The Goodness of Now!! I started this channel when I was nine years old and I had no idea where it would lead me. Here I am 16 years later, married and still doing what I love. Reviving my channel this summer was such a blessing to me. I feel refreshed and creatively fulfilled. However, I’m not making a permanent comeback. Unfortunately, the life stage I’m in isn’t exactly the most compatible with the time it takes to run a stop motion channel— I basically took an entire month off work to make sure this video was ready for June 14th. I don’t regret it by any means, it was definitely a lot of fun, but stop motion takes a lot of time and I don’t see myself ever being able to fully return to this as a job. I will be posting an über long behind the scenes video later this month— I’m stoked to share some of my filming tricks classic timelapses. My dad and I are working very hard to the store up and running again with some new shirt designs (and maybe some old ones?) but things are going a little slow because we haven’t ordered the supplies/used our printer in years. I do have human shirts available on my bonfire though: https://www.bonfire.com/the-goodness-... this specific shirt is for the Goodness of Now release, I drew it myself and I’m obsessed with the quality; it printed so well.

I want to thank a lot of people for helping me make this movie happen. First and foremost: my dad. You guys know that he’s been one of my biggest fans since the beginning. He’s always supported me in my endeavors and when it came to running mixiepixie7, he was my main motivator. We have printed over 1000 Etsy shirts together, spent countless hours in the hot attic folding velcro and burning our fingers, but making doll shirts with him is some of my fondest memories throughout my Youtube career. He was jumped at the chance to get my dolls out of storage for me when I proposed the idea of potentially bringing my channel back this summer. He took a whole afternoon out of his busy, busy week to go with me to the storage unit and dig out all of my stuff. I’m so thankful for all of his help, not just for this movie, but for so many others. I think of him taking me onto our roof at Christmas time, and to our creepy barn at Halloween. He always encouraged my creativity and loved helping in any way he could.

I’d also like to thank my husband, Orlando. He is a little more new to the mixiepixie7 crew, but since 2019, he has been fully invested, supportive, and encouraging to me. This movie wouldn’t have been possible without his button pushing, van transporting, coffee bringing, and …. movie naming. I don’t even think he knows this, but he actually gave me the name the Goodness of Now as we were discussing the themes for the video. He was saying something about how “… you want her to focus on the moment and remind the viewers to enjoy the goodness of now” and I filed it away in my mind, thinking, “That’s a good movie title”.

Of course, thank you to my mom, my biggest cheerleader (my momager)!! She was there to answer any questions I had “does this plot make sense?” “Is a 6 month postpone a good enough punishment for Emery?” Thank you to all the beautiful ladies that voiced my characters.. Thank you Brittany, Karis, the Morgen’s, and Lizzie for bringing Maggie, Mavis, Mom, Nina, and Sydney to life. Your contribution completes the story and it honestly made me emotional the first time I added your voices next to mine in the timeline. I loved our characters meeting each other and I’m so thankful that I met YOU! And finally, thank you to you, my viewers, my subscribers, my self-proclaimed fans ♡ more than anything else, this movie is for you. You have stuck with me through SO much and I hope you view this movie as a gift. I hope it brings back fond memories from when you were younger and AGTube was in its heyday *but also reminds you to cherish the present. The Now is soooo good too :)
