STORYLINE:
An Israeli strike overnight hit tents sheltering displaced Palestinian families in Muwasi, a coastal area designated by the Israeli military as a safe zone in southern Gaza.

The strike destroyed several tents, and wounded many of its inhabitants, according to residents.

“The warplanes don't differentiate between military and civilian targets. They target civilians. They're all innocent, defenseless civilians here,” said Khalil Younis, a displaced man from Rafah.

Associated Press footage showed people collecting their belongings following the strike. Some were seen digging in the sand to rebuild their tents.
