Oburu Oginga, a senior leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), has dared the opposing faction within the party to exit and allow the current leadership to spearhead talks on forming the next government.
Speaking in Siaya County on Saturday, Oginga said the party was operating within the appropriate timelines in seeking political partnerships aimed at capturing the “House on the Hill.” He maintained that ODM’s leadership has the mandate to negotiate alliances ahead of the next general election.
Other party leaders present emphasized the need to strengthen and unite the party, saying this would safeguard the legacy of the late Raila Odinga.
Meanwhile, Junet Mohamed and Hassan Joho criticized the faction associated with Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, accusing it of undermining party unity and engaging in divisive politics at a time when ODM should be consolidating its strength.
