We'll begin the evening with Joseph Yeates showing us some of the newest updates and features in Power BI. Next, Jason Cockington will present on showing or hiding a visual based on a user's selection.

The challenge of selectively showing report elements has plagued Power BI report developers for many years now, but there is no out of the box solution for this problem at this point in time. It is possible to use bookmarks to show and hide an object, but the user must click a specific button to do this. If you want the user to be able to interact with a report and see (or not see) a chart based on some valid selection across the report, for the moment, there is no simple solution. In this talk, Jason Cockington will present his work-around, which leverages Expression Based Formatting to hide or show a visual based on a specific interaction in the report.
