The Government is once again inviting expressions of interest to develop Rosia Bay and the former Admiralty House Quartermaster’s building.
The primary objective, it says, is the creation of a vibrant public space that can be enjoyed year-round by residents and visitors.
The tender notice calls for the area to be restored innovatively and sensitively.
It says the emphasis should be on delivering inclusive, accessible and sustainable public amenities, with facilities such as a restaurant, seating areas and bathing platforms welcomed.
It says all project costs are to be paid by the successful applicant, although the Government says it may choose to reduce part of the premium to help make the project viable.
Expressions of interest for the development of the area were also invited in 2022 and solely for the AHQ building in 2024.
The preference for the former maritime building is that it is refurbished into a boutique hotel incorporating an Information and Interpretation Centre at lower levels focusing on the military and maritime history of Rosia Bay and its surroundings.
GBC has asked for information on past submissions and the reasons they failed to progress.
And, expressions of interest have also been invited to redevelop and operate the cruise liner terminal at the Port, with the aim to boost tourism, sustainability and economic growth.
The Government says it is seeking experienced partners to enhance facilities and visitor experience at the Port.
