When I looked up ICE’s Firearms and Use of Force Directive, nearly the entire document was redacted — likely under a Freedom of Information Act exemption.
That doesn’t mean there are no rules, and it doesn’t mean we are left without a framework.
ICE operates under the Department of Homeland Security, and ICE policies cannot conflict with DHS’s Department Policy on the Use of Force.
This is an educational breakdown of policy and structure, not commentary on any specific incident.
