On Monday, August 14th, I traveled out to the beautiful San Juan mountains to climb Recloud Peak and Sunshine Peak. This pair of Colorado 14ers is usually climbed in the same day as they are connected by a 1.5 mile saddle. Redcloud Peak has a beautiful red summit (hence the name) and provides excellent views of the San Juans and its surrounding peaks. From the summit, you can see Handies, Wetterhorn, and Uncompahgre. It's always a great time in the San Juans!
