With pre-spawn in full swing, I focused on targeting shallow water areas where the smallmouth were staging. The bite wasn’t easy, but when I found them, they were fired up!

I was throwing a Great Lakes Finesse 2.5” Juvy Craw, which ended up landing me my biggest smallmouth of the day! Paired it up with my 7’6” MH Fitzgerald Spinning Rod for long casts and solid hooksets in the shallows.
