Ladakh's Clever Water Strategy

Описание: Ladakh is finding a smart way to use water that was once flowing downstream into the Indus. By building two small diversion trenches, glacier and snowmelt from the Stok region is now being redirected into the Igoo-Phey irrigation canal. The move could make around 9 crore litres of water available every day for irrigation, benefiting 12 villages and over 1,000 acres of farmland. What makes this even more interesting? Ladakh is using a 43-km canal built decades ago instead of starting from scratch.
