This Laney GH100L made its way on the bench because it had a hum that recently developed. Since the amp was going to be opened up I decided it was time to do a recap and perform some modifications to get a little more versatility out of the amp.
The main focus of the modification was to be able to remove the "cold clipping" stage and still utilize the existing additional "Drive" stage to get more of a modified Superlead sound.
The modification allows different configurations of the preamp without having to drill any holes in the faceplate and all modifications can be reversed. I also didn't want to veer too far off the original sound as these amps sound pretty good in their stock form.
