Explaining the basics of Toyota's Dynamic Torque Control AWD and how and when to use Sport Mode in a Rav4. The Dynamic Torque control all wheel drive system works as primarily being a Front Wheel Drive vehicle and having the capability of engaging the rear axle in a matter of moments with an electro magnetic coupler.
This allows the Rav4 to have higher fuel economy and still provide a great feel on the road and unparalleled traction.
Engaging Sport mode in the Rav4 does four things. It increases throttle sensitivity, extends how long gears are held in the transmission, changes the variable valve timing in the engine for more power, and engages the AWD if the steering wheel is turned by at least one degree, this allows the driver to have AWD be more active to power through turns and feel more secure.
