Barjeel is a wind catcher tower seen all around Dubai often above the roof of villas. They feature wooden sticks on the all four sides. It's function is to catch and direct cooler breeze and used to mount cloth as to efficiently redirect airflow.
Even when there was no wind, the towers would function as chimneys, allowing warm air to escape upwards as warm air naturally rises upwards creating a home cooling technique.
This technique is an ultimate sustainable source of coolant in houses and western countries are also adopting now.
