FlyingIron Simulations P-38 Lightning - Aerobatic Display over Goodwood - Microsoft Flight Simulator

Описание: Trying out FlyingIron Simulations P-38 Lightning over EGHR Goodwood. Like their Spitfire & Hellcat it's very detailed and a lot of fun to fly. Currently FlyingIron Simulations is probably the go to developer, when it comes to Warbirds in MSFS. I can't recommend their planes enough! Their aircraft are done to a very high standard in all regards and get updated quite regularly. In a recent status update FlyingIron stated, that all 3 planes will receive quite big updates, which will include, among other things, improvements to the sound, ground and flight physics and electrical systems. As they are already among my top 5 aircraft in MSFS I can't wait to test them after the updates. If everything goes to plan, they will also release a Bf-109 G-6 and FW-190 A (-5?) for the sim this year =)

The P-38 is a very easy plane to fly, at least compared to other WWII fighters. Since the propellers are contra rotating there is little to no torque effect. Furthermore, with its tricycle gear it is very tame/forgiving on the ground. It of course isn't a Pitts, but it is still quite agile for its size. Steve Hinton (one of the most experienced warbird pilots in the world) can be heard in multiple videos/interviews stating, that the hardest part of flying the P-38 is getting in the cockpit.

This flight was done over the beautiful Goodwood Scenery by Burning Blue Design. I thought it would be a nice change from my Duxford flights and thought it's also a very fitting location. Goodwood is probably the Mecca for every form of vintage motorsport. And if you haven't heard of it, you definitely have to check out the Goodwood Revival, Members Meeting or Festival of Speed!
