The Hitchhiker | Uttarakhand Horror Story

Описание: #Horror #India #podcast
Somewhere in the mountains of Uttarakhand there's a narrow road that nobody takes anymore. The person who told this story still doesn't want it named.

Three friends were in the last days of college. Saurabh had his father's car, Rishabh couldn't stop showing off his Instagram game, and Aman sat in the back with chips and cold drinks. They set out for a weekend at Rishabh's uncle's place in the hills. The day drive was easy. Then night came early, the way it does in the mountains, and the network dropped. The fog grew so thick their music sounded muffled. For two hours they hadn't seen another car.

Then the headlights caught a girl standing alone at the roadside with her hand raised.

She said her name was Nisha. Her car had broken down further up, she said, and she only needed a ride down. Her voice was quiet, with no hurry in it. Every time they asked where she was going, she gave the same answer: just a little further. When Rishabh asked for her Instagram ID, she smiled for the first time and set a condition. Switch off the GPS and take the next right turn into the forest.

They took it. The road was overgrown, branches scraped the roof, and the smell of petrol filled the car even though nothing on the dashboard was wrong. Nisha started trembling and asked them to turn back. Then, at one bend, she went completely still.

Years later Aman still notices that petrol smell on nights he's alone. Nobody believed him: not the police, not his family, not his friends. This is his story.
