Savannas are located north and south of
tropical rain forests and have distinct wet seasons.
Savannas receive 90 to 150 cm of precipitation
a year.
Temperate grasslands get too little rainfall to
support trees. Grasslands are dominated mostly
by different types of grasses and flowering
plants. Shortgrass prairies receive about 25 cm
of precipitation a year.
Deserts are the driest biomes on Earth.
Deserts receive less than 25 cm of precipitation
a year.
Plants and animals found in each biome
adapt to the environment in which they live.
