TouchMaps multi-touch map application is intended for public spaces where high resolution multi-touch screens encourage users to collaborative exploration. The user interface is controlled through intuitive and natural multi-touch gestures.
Each of the four maps (Topographic, Forest, Geological and Ortophoto) serve a unique purpose and have coherent map design through the scale levels. The maps are made of 100% free and open national geodata with a country-wide coverage in 1 meter resolution.
One installation of TouchMaps is part of the Finnish Nature Centre Haltia exhibition open for all public since 2013.
