Follow along with me as we set out to give a detailed full service to these two venerable model locomotives.
The Tri-ang R52 Jinty must be known to everyone in the hobby and I’m fortunate to own two.
This step by step guide will show you all you need to do to keep these and other similar models running for decades more.
The process includes, stripping down the models and removing the motor, followed by detailed instructions on which parts to clean and lubricate as well as a caution about using unhelpful methods.
Then we’ll use the remagnetizer to restore the magnet to full power, after this we look at the chassis and clean and re-lubricate that and lastly we carry out a little cosmetic care on the bodies.
