Modern Twyford Classic low level toilet suites and Twyford Galerie washbasin in 1950s setting

This is found in a former primary school near me, built and opened in 1958, we have lovely original terrazzo flooring with original cubicles and cubicle doors, unfortunately we can't say the same for the sanitary ware and the radiator, typical pointless council crap, replace it if it's not broken and replace it if it still works, that's the council in my area for you.

Unfortunately we have modern day "Twyford" branded washbasins from their "Galerie" range and low level S trap toilets with side entry cisterns from their "Classic" range.

The toilets themselves are still available to buy today since they still do them, "Twyford" is a brand that is now owned by "Geberit" and hires "Lecico" to make their ceramics, according to a few ranges anyway.

The washbasins are now discontinued and no longer available, however these are modern and the sanitary ware here was installed in 2016.

Anyway, the sanitary ware itself isn't too bad, it's a lot better then many alternatives in this day and age, this toilet is also available as a side or bottom entry cisterns with the pan being available in 3 different styles, H.O (horizontal outlet), P trap and S trap (shown here), therefore making this an old school design which keeps things very simple and can be bought on websites like Heat & Plumb.

Unfortunately, this place is due to be close and be demolished soon to build brand new pointless facilities to be greener, got to laugh at that one, it won't even last anywhere near as long as this building, which by the way has been here for 67 years as of 2025.
