The Nug Life Beat Tape 46th beat. Getting used to arrangement mode on the Octatrack! This beat started by chopping the upright bass pattern and the drums, then I was adding some F#min Blues chords and patterns. One of the lead synths made on the S-1 used the pentatonic scale. These synth sounds went over to the Novation Circuit Rhythm for FX (the reverb,delay and grid FX add heaps of flavour) and then brought back to the OT. I laid out a few different patterns and then performed it as you hear entirely on the OT using scenes to transfer between. This beat was a simple 2 track stereo mix using AirWindows plugins for flavour.

About Nug Chompah:
Raised in the sunny isolation of the West Australian desert, I honed my craft across the globe, from the frozen tundra of Quebec to the dark clubs of the UK, the verdant atmosphere of Ireland, and a teepee in Cascadia. Now based in South Australia, I produce and rap with gusto, creating a musical mélange that fuses my favourite genres and bursts of verbosity. With a background in classical trombone and 90s IDM, I manipulate an array of drum breaks and samples to craft beats.
