After two years of living in the Philippines, I’m finally back home in Michigan with my family. Today, I wanted to share a piece of my second home by cooking a Filipino meal for them. From introducing unique Filipino flavors to comparing American and Filipino traditions, this was such a special experience—especially because my sister, who has cerebral palsy, joined in to help us cook. Watch as my family steps out of their comfort zone, tries Filipino food for the first time, and shares heartfelt moments together. This day reminded me why I do everything I do.
