Do you think the night sky is dark simply because the sun went down? You aren't seeing the full picture. If the laws of physics held true the way we used to think they did, the night sky shouldn't be black. It should be a blazing wall of white fire, as bright as the surface of the sun, roasting us alive in a fraction of a second.
In this video, inspired by Richard Feynman's legendary explanation of nature's absurdities, we explore Olbers' Paradox. It is a simple observation that dismantled our understanding of the cosmos. It forces us to ask: If the universe is filled with infinite stars, why do we see darkness? The answer requires us to dismantle the static universe and replace it with a terrifyingly dynamic explosion.
How is that possible? Imagine standing in an infinite forest. No matter where you look, your line of sight eventually hits a tree trunk. If the universe were an infinite forest of stars, you would only see a wall of light. To solve this, we have to look at the universe not as a static painting, but as a "raisin cake" expanding in the oven, and visualize time itself as a "giant sausage" where the past, present, and future are just different slices of reality.
What does that mean for your reality? It means the darkness you see at night is not emptiness. It is the echo of the Big Bang. It is proof that the universe had a birthday, and the only reason you exist to ask these questions is because the light from the beginning of time hasn't finished reaching us yet.
