President of IFAC, Jean Bouquot delivered the welcome remarks at IFAC Connect Asia Pacific 2025 on 4 December 2025.
In his speech, Bouquot stated that regional collaboration is a crucial pillar in strengthening the accounting profession in the Asia-Pacific region. He also highlighted his close engagement with Indonesia’s professional ecosystem, which has given him a deep understanding of the commitment shown by regulators, academia, and professional organizations in addressing future challenges and opportunities.
On this occasion, Bouquot expressed his appreciation and congratulations to IAI for assuming the Presidency of the ASEAN Federation of Accountants (AFA) for the 2026–2027 term. He noted that this new leadership marks an important chapter for AFA to continue building upon the strong foundation of regional collaboration established over the years.
“IFAC will continue to play its role as a unifying force for the global accounting profession and strengthen connectivity across member organizations, with learning from members as the most fundamental part of its mission,” he stated.
