Sanpaku eyes, also known as "three whites" or "three whites symptom," is a rare physical trait in which the white part of the sclera (whites of the eyes) is visible below or above the iris when looking straight ahead. The name comes from Japanese, where "san" means "three" and "paku" means "white."
While Sanpaku eyes are not a sign of any medical condition, they have been the subject of speculation and myth for centuries in various cultures. In some Asian cultures, they are considered unlucky, while in others they are associated with exceptional abilities or personality.
There is no scientific evidence to support claims of supernatural properties of Sanpaku eyes. However, some studies suggest that they may be linked to certain health problems, such as glaucoma or light sensitivity.
