Muscogee Creek Nation Court Rules Descendants of Enslaved Black People are entitled to Citizenship because of The Black Freedmen Indian Treaties of 1866; Black Wall Street in Tulsa, OK - Historian, Michael Imhotep, 'The African History Network Show' 7-27-25
Historian Michael Imhotep explains how this history is connected to Black Wall Street in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tulsa was founded around 1834 by Creek Indians who were pushed off of their land in the Southeast by the Indian Removal Act of 1830. They took their African Slaves with them into Oklahoma. A lot of the early African American landowners in North Tulsa where Black Wall Street was got land from The Black Freedmen Indian Treaties of 1866.
After more than a century of exclusion, the Black Creeks — also known as Creek Freedmen — secure a monumental legal victory restoring their full citizenship rights in the Muscogee (Creek) Nation.
🔥 Black Creeks finally win citizenship rights after 146 years
🔥 “The Creek Nation excluded us — now we’re back.”
🔥 The Treaty of 1866 guaranteed their rights — they were ignored
🔥 “We lost in 2007, 2018, 2019 — but we kept hitting.”
🔥 “There were Black Creeks here when Columbus got here.” — ancestral truth.
