This is not sun and moon red in the pokemon sm game, we give pokemon heart gold red team (pokemon champion red), for blue we give him pokemon firered blue team (pokemon champion blue). For the anime side, gary is from the pokemon anime, ash is from the pokemon xyz series, he is known as (ash xyz, xyz ash, kalos ash and ash kalos), he is not the alola ash (sun and moon ash, ash alola) in the pokemon sun and moon anime.
